This is thought to be the first 'charity' hologram. The project was set up by Andrew Pepper who also designed the hologram. Peter Woodd, director of Light Fantastic arranged the production and manufacture of the piece using materials provided by Agfa-Gevaert, London

Everyone worked on the project for free, and the finished hologram was sold through Light Fantastic's Covent Garden Gallery. All profits were donated to Action Aid for their work helping children in Africa.
The hologram was launched at London's Barbican arts centre by BBC TV's 'Blue Peter' presenter Valerie Singleton!
